Kuatro Kantos is on. The stage presentation, which started last week, brings four one-act plays to the Bacolod stage on Jan. 25-27, Feb. 1-3, 14-17 and 22-24. Show time at the Gallaga Theater at the University of St. La Salle is 6:30 p.m.

Kuatro Kantos is being presented by the seven-year-old Produksyon Tramontina, Inc., which is composed of directors, writers and performers who have pursued their love of the art of telling their stories on stage and on film.

The four one-act-plays were originally written and directed for four St. La Salle alumni Jack Triņo, Emilio Montelibano Jr., Paolo Lindaya and Rodolfo Paclibar.

Kuatro Kantos starts with a double treat -from Jan. 25-27 and Feb. 1-3 - Ang Swerte ni Bong, directed by Lindaya, and Ka Timprano Pa Gani, directed by Montelibano.

Ang Swerte is a comedy of errors that revolved around the life of a young Negrense working in Manila. In this world of Easy money, fast life, parties and girls, things can easily go wrong. The hero is set up for a date with a stunner but things boil when his mother arrives from Negros for a visit. One mistake leads to another as the play reaches its hilarious climax. Ka Timprano Pa Gani is set in an old, abandoned movie house. Here, Luning, a middle aged mentally disturbed woman, continues to do her job as a cleaner even if the theater has closed down. The play takes a suspenseful look into the woman's life as she deals with the fact that the theater is about to be torn down.

The two other plays - calendared on Feb. 15-17 and 22-24 - are The Assassin by Trino and Paclibar's Pagkari.
