Capabilities of architects and architecture
students anchored on lifestyles they help create were showcased in the just-concluded
Architecture Week Exhibit at SM City in Bacolod . The event was held as a highlight
of the nationwide Architecture Week spearheaded by the United Architects of the
Philippines .
In Bacolod City , the architecture community, including the
UAP Negrense and Bacolod Chapters, the UAP graduate auxiliary, the UAP-Students
Auxiliary of La Consolacion College and its ARFIEN Department jointly organized
various activities, including product presentations, competitions, a garage sale
and sports tournaments.
The exhibit displayed models and designs of various
local and international buildings and structures.
Arch. Roger Andre Aguilar,
whose architectural designs was among the widely-viewed exhibit displays, said
their works focused on contemporary minimalist approaches “embodying a purist
lifestyle that eliminates clutters of the space user” as in his Yee residence
concept. We focus on designs that provide clients with an aesthetic yet functional
solution that fits their personality and interest, he said, adding, “it's always
about fulfilling client's needs while effecting sustainable archi-tecture at the
same time”.
