| 'A black or silver party' A
festive mood descended over Sipango, Goldenfields in Bacolod as popular Edith
Robillo celebrated her natal day with a bang. At 67 (and proud of it!), she was
truly elated to celebrate her birthday as she does each year with her loving family
and good friends. It was an evening of glitz and glamour as the guests
arrived in their glittering best. But the loveliest belle of the ball was Edith
who wore a fiery red evening gown complete with her blings! The ballroom was soon
full of well-wishers, eager to share Edith's moment of happiness. This
year, there was an added twist to the occasion as the celebrator presented her
new pride and joy, her lovely granddaughter, Beatriz "Princess" Besana Robillo
Ignalague. It was also to celebrate the graduation of her son, Xavier, who has
just completed his nursing course. The affair began with a Mass officiated
by Fr. Pablo Tabino. Dinner followed with an endless buffet of delicious cuisine.
There was a video presentation featuring the highlights of Edith's life. Her dear
friends offered her red roses as they came up to greet her. Seen among
the guests were Bacolod Mayor Bing Leonardia, former VM Renecito Novero, who also
serenaded her with a song. A big surprise number was a duet rendered by former
Rep. John Orola and Violeta Caram who wowed the crowd. There was a fine violin
rendition by a group of talented kids. In the spirit of the occasion, more guests
came up to sing for the celebrator. As a special number, Edith sang for all her
beloved guests. The night was still young and soon the place was swinging
with dance aficionados showing their terpsichorean skills on the dance floor.
Wotta night! HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDITH!* |
