Rep. Henry Pryde Teves (Neg. Or., 3 rd district) is expected to be moved out of the intensive care unit of the St. Luke's Medical Center in three to four days, his grandfather, Herminio Teves, said yesterday.

Rep. Teves, 34, was among those injured in the bombing of the House of Representatives Tuesday night that killed Basilan Representative Wahab Akbar and three others, and wounded nine.

Teves sustained severe burns on the face and chest, as well as a wound and fracture on the leg, his grandfather said.

4 universities join Sandurot

Four colleges and universities will participate in this year's Sandurot Festival of Dumaguete City that kicks off Saturday, organizers said yesterday.

The festival is part of activities lined up for the fiesta and charter day celeberation of Dumaguete.

The performers, who will showcase various cultures and influences are from the Silliman University - American, Negros Oriental State University - Muslim; Saint Paul University of Dumaguete - Chinese; and Foundation University – Spanish.

DILG gives
province high rating

Negros Oriental obtained a high performance rating for successfully implementing the Executive Legislative Agenda in 2006, Provincial Administrator Marilou Kho said yesterday.

She said the Department of Interior and Local Government announced the evaluation results at the ELA conference held at Antulang Resort in Siaton town, over the weekend.

Gov. Emilio Macias II, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, department heads, and representative from the private sector and civil society attended the event.
