Negros cops on alert

Negros Occidental and Bacolod City officials yesterday condemned the bombing at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City Tuesday night, amid stepped up police security and calls for prayers.
“We should pray for those who have perished and those who were injured,” Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra said.
Gov. Joseph Marañon ordered stepped up security in Negros Occidental and at the provincial Capitol in Bacolod City following the bombing that left Rep. Wahab Akbar (Basilan) and three civilians dead, and nine others, including Rep. Pryde Henry Teves (Neg. Or., 3 rd district) and Gabriela party-list Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan injured.
