Two injured by ‘cannon'
BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

Two children were injured in explosions from makeshift cannons during a parade commemorating the Cinco de Noviembre in Bago City yesterday, Aksyon Radyo reported.

Jason Loriano and Shiela Marie Masanit were rushed to the Bago City District Hospital and the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital , respectively, with injuries from metal cannons used in a parade celebrating Negros Day at about 8 a.m. yesterday, the report said.

Loriano, 14, and Masanit, 12, are both residents of Brgy. Sampinit, in Bago.

The cannons, made of metal pipes, are fired with the use of gasoline, the report said.

It said that Loriano, a participant in the parade, had minor burns on his face, neck, and hands where the flame from one of the cannons hit him. Masanit's left eye was hit by a wire.

Loriano was released from the hospital after the treatment while Masanit is still confined at the CLMMRH, the report added.

The Bago City police said the incident was not reported to them.*PP
