Brgy captain
complains vs. Silay dad
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Newly-elected barangay captain Noel Ayalin yesterday claimed he was accosted by Councilor Mykol Velez who, he said, was under the influence of alcoholic liquor, at Rizal-Burgos streets, in Silay City , for driving a government-owned school bus at about 2 a.m. yesterday.

Ayalin, of Capitan Ramon, Silay City , said he and Edward Dimson used the Silay City school bus to bring patient, Ruby Rabales, to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital .

He also said he was surprised by the actuation of Velez whose vehicle suddenly crossed his path as he was driving through Hacienda Makina, Silay City , and this almost caused a collision of their vehicles.

Velez vehemently denied the claims of Ayalin and told him not to tell a lie and deceive the Silaynons.

“You are a barangay official, I am a city official. I don't think that we should mislead the people,” he said.

Velez claimed Ayalin ignored him when he asked him why the school bus was roaming around early yesterday morning in Silay.

Ayalin, who reported the incident to the Silay police, said he had bought motor oil from a gasoline station and dropped by a snack bar at Rizal-Burgos streets in Silay City before going home, when he was accosted by the group of Velez.

Supt. Roderick Alba, Silay police chief, said the incident was reported to the police at about 4:45 a.m. for record purposes.*GPB
