| Employees at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City are asking for the results of the investigation conducted by the Department of Health on the alleged irregularities that led to the change of management twice at the hospital.
Willie Dueño, ambulance driver and spokesperson of a group of employees who are critical with the CLMMRH management, said the DOH should release the result of the investigation so that they will know where the funds of the hospital went.
He said the hospital operates with a P17 million deficit, resulting to delayed salaries of workers and lack of supplies at the CLMMRH pharmacy.
Dueño and his group also said there are some discrepancies in the record of employees' remittances with the Government Service Insurance System.
In response, hospital chief Dr. Epifania Simbul said her function at CLMMRH does not include following up the result of the investigation conducted by the legal department.
She said her task is to take charge of the hospital's operations and she already met with Dueño to discus the demands of the employees.
Simbul added she asked Dueño to channel his energy and talent in improving hospital services, such as supervising the maintenance of the ambulances, instead of focusing on the problems at CLMMRH.
Meanwhile, Dueño said they will continue pushing for the release of employees' benefits that got stalled due to the financial problems faced by the hospital.
Aside from holding pickets during breaktime, Dueño said they will also conduct prayer rallies inside the hospital and wear black ribbons to manifest their sentiments against the DOH.*NAB
