3 killed in Neg. Occ Three persons were killed, and another one was injured in stabbing and shooting incidents, and a vehicular accident in Negros Occidental on Nov. 2 and 3, the police said yesterday.
Killed were Enrique Panilaga, Joel Santillan and Joseph Villamor, while injured was Jonel Coros, 16.
Panilaga, 43, was shot in the stomach allegedly by Editho Molina in Brgy. Plaridel, Sagay City, on Nov. 2.
Supt. William Señoron, Sagay police chief, said Panilaga was declared dead on arrival at the Dr. Vicente Gustilo Memorial Hospital in Escalante City .
Molina could no longer be found when Sagay policemen arrived at the crime scene.
Santillan, on the other hand, was mauled and stabbed allegedly by Demetrio Pabalinas, his brother, Alex, and cousin, Raymond Pabalinas, in Brgy. Candumarao, Hinigaran, on Friday.
Police investigations show that the victim and suspects engaged in heated arguments while having a drinking spree on Friday.
Santillan was on his way home when he was waylaid, mauled and stabbed by the suspects who were later arrested by Hinigaran policemen.
Policemen recovered a bolo and stainless steel knife from the arrested suspects.
Santillan died on the way to the Hinigaran Emergency Clinic, the police said.
On the other hand, Villamor died when the motorcycle he was riding skidded along the slippery road of Brgy.Mailum in Bago City , also on Nov. 2.
Police also said that Coros survived after he was stabbed allegedly by his uncle, Edgardo Decin in Brgy. Zone 2, Cadiz City , on Saturday.
Coros is now being treated for a stab wound in his stomach at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City , while Decin is now detained at the police lock-up cell of Cadiz .
Three wanted persons were also arrested by the police in Toboso and Sagay City .
Nabbed in Toboso was Jun Jun Cadamay, 25, of Brgy. Binagyuhan, Escalante, who has a pending arrest warrant issued by Judge Rodney Bolunia for attempted rape.
Bolunia has recommended a bail of P120,000 for Cadamay.
Señoron also reported the arrest of Pedro Gelantaga-an and Sergio Pugoy in Sagay, who also have pending arrest warrants issued by Judge Renato Nuñez for robbery and qualified theft.*GPB

Robber apprehended
A notorious robbery hold-up suspect was arrested by a team of policemen at Bonifacio Street in Silay City , Negros Occidental, after he stabbed a young woman on Friday.
Supt. Roderick Alba, Silay police chief, yesterday identified the suspect who has a pending case for illegal possession of firearms, as Jaypee Acuna, 20.
Alba said Acuna, of Hacienda Ortiz, Brgy. 4, in Silay, was captured by a team of police intelligence operatives led by SPO1 Exchor Barro after he stabbed Jessica de la Cruz with an icepick in the left breast when she refused to give her cellphone to him.
Police investigations also showed that Acuna was positively identified by Philip Deocadez and Jean Theresa Espanola, whom he also robbed of their cellphones on Oct. 24 in Silay City .
Alba said the robbery-hold-up group of Acuna has five to eight members, who were also tagged as responsible to the series of hold-up incidents in Silay City .
He added that de la Cruz who survived the attempt on her life, is determined to pursue the filing of charges against Acuna and his still unidentified companion.
Silay police investigators also sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation in making the facial sketch of the companions of Acuna who are still at-large.
Charges for robbery with attempted homicide are being readied by the Silay police station against Acuna and his companion.*GPB
