The government is mapping out measures to cushion the impact caused by the spiraling of oil prices in the world market, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said Saturday.
Ermita, in a radio interview, said President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has given orders to address the problems caused by the increase in the world prices of oil.
"She (President Arroyo) is aware that this can affect so many aspects of everyday life," he said.

Bacolod City Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue has underscored the importance of the role of the local private and business sector in speeding up the entry of Bacolod and Negros Occidental in the Roadmap 2010, a comprehensive study of the Philippine outsourcing industry.
Batapa-Sigue, convenor of the ICT provincial conference on November 15 and 16 in Bacolod City , said yesterday Bacolod and other cities in Negros Occidental should be among the so-called “next wave cities” to be identified by Commission on Information and Communications Technology and Business Processing Association of the Philippines .

Nov. 21-23 in Tagaytay
The 9th Mango Congress will be held on November 21 to 23 at the Development Academy of the Philippines Conference Center in Tagaytay City .
The event, organized by the Cavite Mango Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, will focus on the various industry aspects, including agriculture, chemicals, food and beverage, packaging and paper.
It will also tackle products and services aspects such as fresh and process products; fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides; and extension of credit to growers, processors and exporters.
