Bowlfest in Bago unfolds

The two-day Encuentro Sa El Cinco de Noviembre Quintet Open Bowling Championship unfolds today at the Plaza Arcade Bowling Alley in Bago City , Negros Occidental.

Bago City Bowlers Association president Joel Basiao said action will start at 2 p.m.

He said P25,000 is at stake for the top four winners in the five-game series event.

The champion will receive P10,000 in cash and a trophy, while the first and second runners-up will bring home P7,500 and P5,000 apiece.

Third runner-up will get P2,500.

The top four squads will vie for the championship in an up-the-ladder knock-out match, tomorrow starting at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, Silverado ASSFBI and ON-BACIBA ruled the Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc. organized Oktoberfest Open Bowling Tournament at the New Top's Millennium Plaza in Bacolod City .

The Silverado bowlers managed by Cecil Silverio beat the Sharp I pinrollers, 549-545, to win the men's crown, while On-BACIBA stopped Condura Ladies, 539-535, for the women's plum.

The members of the winning Silverados were Pete Aplaon, Joel Huertas and Nonoy Gatila; Lars del Castillo, Precy Pillo, Margie Bayog and Glo Pution for BACIBA.

Brgy. I and ESD Triple C settled for second and third runners-up, as NPBC and Hurricane salvaged for fourth and fifth, respectively.*HLG
