| Starry, starry night When
the University of St. La Salle High School had their Prom Night last school year,
they had the novel idea of having as their theme, the glitzy and glamorous Academy
Awards of Hollywood. The ritzy L' Fisher Hotel was the venue of the affair.
As I entered the grand La Proa Ballroom, silver stars were hanging from the chandeliers,
cascading down to the tables which had silver Academy Award figurines serving
as centerpieces and I would gather, fitting souvenirs for this star-studded affair.
Not to be outdone, the parents occupied the whole Ripples function rooms where
a close circuit audio visual screen showed them what was happening inside the
ballroom. Now, that's class! The entrance of the stellar H.S. Juniors was
so well-organized-from the paging of their names one by one as they filed into
a separate room for a photo session with their dates and escorts to their grand
entrance into the ballroom, I am sure will be unparalleled in the annals of La
Salle. Needless to say, the budding ladies were elegantly sheathed in the
finest silks while the dashing gents looked neat in their crisp barongs. Bravo
to the team of 3rd Year High School Governor Ina Ramos who was the epitome of
glitz in her shredded gossamer of a gown. Made for each other was beautiful songbird
Niza Limjap in a cool aqua slip imported from the USA and champion swimmer Robbie
Rovero. Come to think of it, everyone looked perfect for each other that
night as the ladies daintily went through their cotillion dance while the young
lads leapt to each gal's fancy. It was an elegant affair, indeed! MY PRAYER
Do not abandon me, O Lord; do not stay away, my God! Help me now, O Lord
my Savior!* |
