Red Tandy's, WNC
booters claim crowns

West Negros College and Red Tandy's San Carlos ruled the men and women's divisions, respectively, while University of St. La Salle High School took the girls' high school crown in the 3rd UVAFT 7-a-side Gus Uriarte Memorial Football Festival at the USLS pitch in Bacolod City recently.

Playing-coach Norman Fegidero scored in the second half to lift WNC past UNO-R A, 1-0, in the finals. Fegidero was adjudged MVP of the men's tournament that drew 12 teams. Winning the MVP accolade in the women's division is Alyssa Dionoso of Red Tandy's, which won the title for the second straight year.

The tournament is held in memory of Gus Uriarte, a former football player of Negros Occidental, Rani Alisan, one of the tournament organizers, said in a press release.

Supporting the tournament are the USLS Varsity Sports Office, Bacolod United, Sports Enthusiasts Association of Negros, SMC-CKAG and Pro-Signs. *CPT
