Housewife killed
due to 'gossip'

BY GILBERT BAYROAN

A 46-year-old housewife was brutally killed Tuesday in Sitio Catugasan, Brgy.Minoyan, Murcia, and the police suspect that mere "tsismis (gossip)" could have caused it.

The body of victim Alicia Giganto bearing multiple hack wounds and whose neck was almost severed, was discovered after noon Tuesday, several hours afters he was murdered, police said.

Police investigators have already established the identity of the suspect who is also known to the victim and her husband, Edgardo, but his name was withheld pending follow-up operations.

Police investigations showed that the suspect had warned the victim and her husband not to malign him before the Sembrado family, who owns the land they are temporarily occupying and tilling in the place.

The victim was reportedly tending her flower farm when she was attacked by the bolo -wielding suspect without any provocation. The police, however, has yet to produce a witness to the killing of Giganto, saying that all their evidences are purely circumstantial.*GPB
