A rip-roaring
evening to remember

He did it again! Bacolod's foremost party-giver, Dr. Ver Lacson, held two unforgettable celebrations in one night - a welcome back party for Balikbayan Margie Lacson and the first victory dinner for re-elected Mayor Bing Leonardia. As one of the guests exclaimed, "It was a blast!" First to arrive at Dr. Ver's elegant home was tall and stunning Margie, who came with her "significant other" John Mandelt (a dead ringer for Hollywood actor Errol Flynn!) and favorite nephew Eric Lacson. Ver and Margie had the time of their lives recalling her last visit where we painted the town red, drinking and dancing till the wee hours at Cozy Nook.

Margie showed us photos of her beautiful daughter Erika (who looks like young star Lindsay Lohan!). It wasn't long before the other guests came and joined the fun.

Over sparkling red wine and scrumptious pica-pica, the group exchanged pleasantries and stories of the good old days. Memories filled the night air with laughter.

There is nothing like the sweet smell of success. When newly-proclaimed Mayor Bing Leonardia walked in with lovely wife Elsa, everyone excitedly greeted and congratulated him. Although visibly exhausted from the grueling campaign and proclamation, Bing's smile was ear-to-ear all evening basking with the glow of a winner. This was his first victory dinner celebration and he came to have a good time.

Everyone enjoyed the lavish buffet specially prepared by master chef Danilo. The excellent menu showcased the favorite food of Negrenses: succulent prawns in garlic sauce, chicken in cheese and mushrooms, Blue Marlin cooked to perfection, Pad Thai and juicy spare ribs. Soon the effect of the wine and our favorite Black Russian, began to take effect and it wasn't long before peals of laughter echoed through the room. With a fun-loving group like this, there is never a dull moment. It was a riot! Wotta night!*
