RP quintet lands in fourth
TEHRAN - The worn-out San Miguel-RP Team absorbed a 75-95 defeat to Qatar's Al Rayyan Sunday, formally ending a FIBA Asia Champions Cup stint that was both frustrating and rewarding.
The Nationals tried their very best to overachieve but found themselves simply unable to exceed expectations against the longer, fresher Qataris and had to settle for fourth place.

| St. Benilde, BAPRO win St. Benilde School and Bacolod Professionals prevailed over their opponents to bag the championship title in their respective category in the BUS Group basketball tournament. The boys from St. Benilde, survived a scare from the much-improved University of St. La Salle, 90-83, in the finals of the 14-under at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center. The BAPRO dribblers, on the other hand, tamed Basketball Unified Sports Group Team `A', 70-64, in the 38-Above division. The championship matchup between BAPRO and Basketball Unified was played
at the Lopue's South Square gym. |
