Josy's proclamation
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Supporters of Jocelyn Limkaichong held a peaceful prayer rally at the Ninoy Aquino Freedom Park in Dumaguete yesterday and called on the authorities to proclaim her as their duly-elected House Representative for the first district of Oriental Negros.

The men, women and children who braved the heat and intermittent drizzles, were told by Limkaichong's leaders that their candidate had already filed a motion for reconsideration with the Commission on Elections in Manila to reverse the decision disqualifying her from the congressional race.

NegOr nominee in
BAS center search

The Bureau of Agricultural Statistics in Oriental Negros is a nominee in the nationwide search for BAS Model Provincial Operations Center, a press release from the office said.

The operations center of BAS in the province headed by Ricarda Diamano as officer-in-charge, is the only nominee in Central Visayas for the search, in the provincial category. The BAS regional office in Cebu has been nominated in the regional category.

Evelyn Tidon, Provincial Agricultural Statistics Officer of Metro Manila BAS Operations Center, was in Dumaguete City recently to evaluate the BAS office in Oriental Negros.

IN TANJAY CITY
PPCRV mulling raps
versus political group
BY MARICAR ARANAS AND RENE GENOVE

The Diocesan Electoral Board will formally file charges against a political group in Tanjay City, Oriental Negros, for allegedly using the name of the National Movement for Free Elections or NAMFREL as its volunteers' identity in the May 14 polls.

Tanjay City Parish coordinator Dondee Ceņeres reported the anomaly to DEB convenor Rev. Fr. Julius Perpetuo Heruela in Dumaguete City, who will, in turn, refer the problem to the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting main office in Manila .

Ceņeres said they were surprised to see a group of young people wearing T-shirts bearing the letters N.A.M.F.R.E.L. which supposed to be the acronym of an independent poll counting body.
