Bacong police operatives captured an escapee from the Zamboanga del Norte Correctional and Rehabilitation Center, Thursday, in Bacong, Oriental Negros.

Caught was Danilo Cagandaran, 27, married, of Barangay Ma. Cristina in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

An intelligence report was received by the Bacong Philippine National Police, prompting joint surveillance operatives from Bacong police and the Provincial Jail guards of Zamboanga del Norte, and resulting in the apprehensions.

Cagandaran did not resist arrest.

He said he bolted the Zamboanga del Norte Correctional and Rehabilitation Center on March 30, at about 2 p.m.

He was charged with rape with no bail bond recommended by Dipolog City Regional Trial Court Branch 7 Presiding Judge Soledad Acaylar.

The jail guards suspected that Cagandaran sought refuge in Oriental Negros because of its proximity to Zamboanga del Norte. The escapee is now detained at the ZNCRC.*MA
