NegOr nominee in
BAS center search

The Bureau of Agricultural Statistics in Oriental Negros is a nominee in the nationwide search for BAS Model Provincial Operations Center, a press release from the office said.

The operations center of BAS in the province headed by Ricarda Diamano as officer-in-charge, is the only nominee in Central Visayas for the search, in the provincial category. The BAS regional office in Cebu has been nominated in the regional category.

Evelyn Tidon, Provincial Agricultural Statistics Officer of Metro Manila BAS Operations Center, was in Dumaguete City recently to evaluate the BAS office in Oriental Negros.

Tidon is among the team of evaluators who currently visited the provinces for a two-week evaluation of the nominated BAS operations centers, the press release said. She said the evaluation is based on a set of criteria to determine the efficiency and competence of a provincial operation center

Each of the 81 provincial and 18 regional offices of BAS nationwide are rated every month, based on the reports submitted to the central office.

Tidon said the awarding ceremony is set June 22, shortly before the 44th anniversary celebration of BAS. The chosen model in the provincial and regional levels will each receive a plaque of appreciation and a cash award of P6,000, the press release added.*
