No. 1 in Neg. Occ

Ang Kasangga, the party list group of Marilou Arroyo, sister of First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and Rep. Ignacio Arroyo (Neg. Occ., 5th district) won in Negros Occidental over 92 other groups, Commission on Elections final results in the province showed yesterday.

If Ang Kasangga wins enough votes nationwide the First Gentleman's sister will sit as its partylist representative.

In an interview earlier she said Ang Kasangga, which was organized three and half years ago, is advocating micro entrepreneurial growth.

Ang Kasangga, that has 45,000 members, hopes to pass laws that will help the poor from falling prey to 5-6 loans, she said. In the provincial count covering 31 towns and cities of Negros Occidental Ang Kasangga garnered 25,468 votes, followed by Bayan Muna with 20,554, Buhay - 18,634, A Teacher - 18,342, Anakpawis - 17,955, and Gabriela - 16,702.

In the Bacolod City count Bayan Muna was in first place with 8,103 votes, Gabriela - 7331, Buhay - 6,102, A Teacher - 4,659 and Partido ng Mangagawa - 6,192.*CPG/CGS
