2 NPC senatorial bets
top prov'l, city counts

The final Commission on Elections count for Bacolod City and Negros Occidental Saturday showed a 6-5-1 win for the Genuine Opposition senatorial bets, and the dominance of the Nationalist People's Coalition.

However, the ranking of the top 12 winners for the lone district of Bacolod City, and for the 31 town and cities under the province of Negros Occidental differed.

In Bacolod City the number one slot went to Francis "Chiz" Escudero (GO), while in Negros Occidental it went to Loren Legarda (GO), both members of the NPC.

In the number two slot in Bacolod City was Benigno "Nonoy" Aquino III (GO), son of martyred senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino and former president Corazon Aquino, and in Negros Occidental the second place went to Miguel Zubiri (TU) who has roots in Kabankalan City.
