Caņa congratulates Sayson
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Bacolod vice mayoralty candidate Lyndon Caņa issued a statement congratulating his rival Jude Thaddeus Sayson Saturday morning before the final official proclamation of the winners.

Sayson registered 70,223 votes over Caņa's 64,699.

Caņa said "I wish Sayson the best of God's blessings as he leads the new Council of Bacolod and wish his family and supporters well."

"We have fought a very, very good fight, and although we lost by a narrow margin considering the tremendous odds we were up against, we all have nothing to be ashamed of," Caņa said.

Caņa said he is also congratulating his fellow independents, those who ran for Council seats, especially congressional candidate Andy Hagad, for their principled and noble fight.

He also congratulated Mayor Evelio Leonardia for the fresh and decisive mandate, as well, as the Congressman and the new councilors.

Meanwhile, Sayson said he plans to pursue the implementation of full computerization in the Sangguninag Panlungsod when he assumes his post, especially the codification of all the ordinances, which was started by Vice Mayor Renecito Novero.

He said he will also give priority to the promises listed in the campaign platform of Grupo Progreso and will look into the budget of the city. He said there are six months remaining and if there is a need for additional budget, they may work for the passage of a supplemental budget.

Sayson said he will call for a meeting with the new and incoming members of the SP on the appointments of the different committees.*CGS
