CFC marks 18th year
BY RENE GENOVE

The Tekton Guild Ministry of the Couples for Christ Social Ministries of Oriental Negros celebrated its 18th anniversary recently by holding the Gawad Kalinga Kabuhayan Fair 2007, at the Quezon Park, in Dumaguete City.

CFC members showcased their products and services in the trade fair. Events organizer Vic Jurlano said the fair exhibited the different livelihood initiatives of CFC members and Gawad Kalinga families, livelihood skills sessions, small business counseling and cultural presentations

. Government offices like the Department of Trade and Industry featured the legal procedures in acquiring business and trade name, while the City Agriculture office demonstrated fish and food processing.

Yesterday, a program was held featuring the so-called 18 treasures that the Lord has blessed the community with, followed by a mass at the Cathedral.

The CFC currently has seven Gawad Kalinga sites in the cities of Bais, Dumaguete and Bayawan as well as in Sta. Catalina and Mabinay, in the province.*RG
