Bacolod City will join the worldwide International Day for Biological Diversity
celebration on the theme "Biodiversity and Climate Change," on May 22, a press
release from the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office said yesterday.
The event coincides with the World Environment Day theme
of climate change. CENRO Bacolod City will hold biodiversity conservation activities
this month, including a Lakbay-Aral by in Guimaras on May 17 to 18, to observe
efforts to rehabilitate the oil-spill affected foreshore and mangroves areas and
to learn its effects to biodiversity, OIC-CENRO Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya said
in the press release. They will also visit the Lombija Farm
and Wildlife Sanctuary, a world-class wildlife sanctuary and botanical garden,
to learn different practices of wildlife conservation and breeding, the press
