2 bets battle for
Team Unity endorsement
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Team Unity bet for congress in the 1st District, Oriental Negros, Olive Paras, has questioned the endorsement of her opponent Jocelyn Limkaichong that was signed only by the party president and not by the arbitration committee. Paras said the committee should thresh out who to endorse and declare as the official candidate of the administration ticket. She claimed that her endorsement is the official one as it was signed by six parties comprising the unified party.

She, however, said it she is not bothered by Limkaichong's endorsement, stressing that, at the end of the day, it is still the people and her strength as a candidate that will make her win.

Meanwhile, Rep. Jacinto Paras criticized the alleged intervention of Rep. Herminio Teves (3rd District) in the endorsement issue, accusing the latter of maneuvering the process, and not through the arbitration committee.

He said Teves violated the nomination process, because he was aware that the right thing to do is for the president of the party to nominate a congressional candidate, not just by a party member like Herminio Teves.

Paras said Teves' interference will not matter.

On the other hand, Jacinto's brother, Jerome, said it's a big fraudulent lie for Limkaichong to continuously claim she has been endorsed as the official candidate of Team Unity.*JG
