ITR FILING UNTIL APRIL 16
BIR tells Negrenses
to pay taxes early

The Bureau of Internal Revenue has extended the deadline for the filing of income tax to April 16, Monday, since April 15 falls on a Sunday.

BIR is urging Negrense taxpayers to avoid the long lines and unnecessary hassles by paying their taxes early although the agency has also set up alternative venues where they can file their ITRs at their convenience.

BIR said it has coordinated with its Authorized Agents Banks in Negros Occidental for an extension of their banking hours from 3 p.m. up to 5 p.m. on April 1 to 16 or only during the filing season.

The local AABs are the United Coconut Planters Bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, Bank Of the Philippine Islands, Philippine National Bank, Allied Bank, Security Bank, Development Bank of the Philippines, Land Bank, Metrobank, Equitable-PCI Bank, Philippine Trust Bank and China Bank. These AAB have also been requested by the BIR to assign additional personnel and open additional counters to ensure servicing of all taxpayers.

Selected AABs will be open on April 14 to cater to taxpayers. These include the Security Bank in Rizal Street (Bacolod City), Development Bank of the Philippines in the cities of Bacolod and Dumaguete and Binalbagan, Cadiz, Dumaguete, Escalante and Bacolod (Hilado) branch of Equitable PCI-Bank.*
