Fire hits Bacolod canefield

Fire hit a sugarcane field and grassland in Bacolod City at about 2:59 p.m. yesterday.

A sugarcane field was burned in Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City. Reports said the fire was controlled at about 4:50 p.m. Another fire incident in Rosario Heights, Bacolod City was also reported at about 2:20 p.m. yesterday. A resident reportedly burned garbage and the fire later spread to the grass.

Responding firefighters were able to control the fire at about 2:58 p.m., reports said. At North Drive, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, a grass fire was reported at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday. It was controlled by fire volunteers at about 4:40 p.m., reports said.*CBM
