General manager Ephraim Taclob of the Negros Oriental 2 Electric
Cooperative said he is not hanging up his gloves as GM yet, in reaction
to a circular from the National Electrification Administration placing
the retirement age at 60.
Taclob has confirmed that some quarters want to remove him
from office since he had turned 60 in September last year. Taclob
was also accused of mismanagement and anomalous undertakings, which
he vehemently denied at a press conference. He said he is ready
to face his accusers.
"If I have a problem, I should be investigated first and be
accorded due process of law," Taclob said. NORECO 2 Board of Directors
chairman Felix Gaudiel said he is waiting for Taclob to tender his
resignation in May this year.
"NORECO 2 is fully registered with the Cooperative Development
Authority. Why should I be made to follow the NEA circular on the
retirement age?" Taclob inquired.
Gaudiel said the board has not yet confirmed the NEA circular.*JG
