Ceneco board names
new acting president

Four directors of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative said in a press statement that board vice president Joebert Tagobader assumed as acting president during their meeting yesterday.

The statement was signed by directors Gerardo Solas, board treasurer; Julius Tamayo, Roberto Montelibano, and Tagobader himself, as well as by OIC-general manager Henry Sia.

They said that Tagobader assumed the post after board president Eddie Guillem was terminated by the National Electrification Administration through its order dated March 12.

They said that the assumption of Tagobader as board president of CENECO is in accordance with CENECO's bylaws and in compliance with the injunctive order issued in the Civil Case No. 07-12960," which was filed by Guillem against directors Montelibano, Tamayo, Perlito Fuentespina, and Eduardo Torrecampo who elected themselves as acting president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer, respectively after Guillem was suspended in February.

The members of the board unanimously allowed Tagobader to preside over the board meeting yesterday, they said in their press statement. Guillem and then OIC-general manager Noriel Bermudez were terminated by the NEA Board of Administrators after they were found liable for administrative violations.

The NEA Board said both Guillem and Bermudez openly defied and violated NEA policies, guidelines, rules and orders, constituting grave misconduct punishable as a grave offense, when they signed and executed a contract for the acquisition of 30MVA substation transformer for the Alijis substation using the Reinvestment Fund of CENECO without prior approval of NEA.*
