Four directors of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative
said in a press statement that board vice president Joebert Tagobader
assumed as acting president during their meeting yesterday.
The statement was signed by directors Gerardo Solas,
board treasurer; Julius Tamayo, Roberto Montelibano, and Tagobader
himself, as well as by OIC-general manager Henry Sia.
They said that Tagobader assumed the post after
board president Eddie Guillem was terminated by the National Electrification
Administration through its order dated March 12.

deploys 2
teams to monitor rice
The National Food Authority in Negros Occidental
has deployed two enforcement teams to monitor compliance by grains
retailers in the province with the rules and regulations in selling
NFA rice.
NFA provincial manager Marianito Bejemino said
their agency wants to ensure that the NFA rice reaches the consumer
at the right quality and price set at P18 per kilo.
Violators will be fined P1,000 or even more, depending
on the gravity of their offense. NFA rice can be bought from 'Tindahan
Natin' outlets of the NFA and the Department of Socal Welfare
and Development, Bigasan ni Gloria sa Palengke outlets, Bigasan
sa Parokya outlets and individual outside market retailers.
