Former Bacolod City councilor and acting vice mayor Alex Paglumotan
announced yesterday his resignation from the position of commissioner
of the Games and Amusement Board.
In his letter to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, a copy
of which he furnished the DAILY STAR, Paglumotan said his resignation
is his personal choice to fulfill his basic obligations to his family
and society and noted that he is leaving the wonderful agency "with
a heavy heart."
He also acknowledged his appreciation of the opportunity to
work with GAB chairman Eric Buhain and other top officals of the
Board.
Paglumotan told the DAILY STAR that his act of resigning is, for
him, "a supreme sacrifice" because he wants "to put Bacolod City
into good hands". Paglumotan was appointed to the GAB by the President
on November 23, 2004. His resignation takes effect today.*
