Local beach volley
squads kick off bid

Spikers from the University of St. La Salle and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos will see action in the Visayas leg of the 11th National Nestea beach volleyball tournament that starts today at the La Salle Greenhills sand courts in Manila.

Marlon Luces and Mark Sabusap will represent USLS in the men's division. Adamson University topped the event last year but did not qualify for the finals which will be held in Boracay Island on April 21. Lasallians Realyn Valenciano and Sheryl Silva will go for the crown in the women's division, ruled last year by the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde's volleybelles who will also miss the finals this year.

UNO-R spikers Julie Ann Bellote and Jenny Torres will also start their campaign in the annual Nestea tourney which stakes a P200,000 cash prize for the national champions.* PP
