USLS female booters
strike; ABES XI prevails

BY CEDELF TUPAS

St. La Salle-A grabbed the early lead in the NOFA Under-17 Ladies 9-a-side Provincial Championships, following a one-sided victory and a walkover win at the USLS pitch in Bacolod City over the weekend.

The La Sallians whitewashed University of Negros Occidental Recoletos-A, 9-0, Saturday before winning via forfeiture against Ma-ao United, whose players failed to show up for the match. The two victories put them on top of the table with six points. Defending champion San Carlos also had a resounding debut, pummeling Handumanan United, 10-0, while Pontevedra dealt UNOR-A a 6-0 beating.

Domingo Lacson National High School also made its presence felt when it blanked Bacolod Tay Tung High School, 7-0.

In the Under-13 mixed 9-a-side tournament, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School got off to a winning start as it defeated UNOR, 9-4, while CLMES trounced Real Murcia, 2-0.

Handumanan proved too strong for USLS, 5-2, while Minuluan Talisay FC enjoyed a walkover win over Ma-ao.

Real Negrense emerged leader at the end of opening-week in 38-above tournament, thanks to a 7-0 drubbing of Cadiz, 7-0.

Minuluan Talisay A and Minuluan Talisay B played to a 2-2 draw, before Bacolod United-A trounced sister team Bacolod United, 4-1. *CPT
