The Commission on Elections in Dumaguete City accepted the first certificate of candidacy Friday filed by a councilor seeking reelection for the May 14 polls.

Councilor Antonio Remollo was the first to file his CoC at the local COMELEC office. He is running under the ticket of Board Member Arturo Umbac for mayor and comebacking vice mayor Woodrow Maquiling.

Also in their line-up under the United Opposition are incumbent councilor Rotelio Lumjod, Nilo Sayson, Jess Estrabela, Dr. Rafael Lagahit, Ronnel Enario, Mary Ann Gegoncillo de la Raya, Jose Chiu Jr, JV Pro Teves, Tony Remollo, and Dave Saceda. Umbac said the rest of them will file their CoCs tomorrow.

Maquiling's opponent in the vice mayoralty race is incumbent William Ablong who is running under Pundok Kasaligan-LAKAS of Mayor Agustin Perdices.*MA
