House damaged by fire

Fire damaged a residential house Friday at Aldecoa Drive, Barangay Daro, Dumaguete City.

Bureau of Fire Protection probers said they are still investigating the origin of the blaze that engulfed the second floor of the house owned by Jennifer Mosa.

FO3 Rico Bandeling said they are looking into the possibility of faulty electrical connection as the cause, adding that nobody was inside the room when the fire started.

Damage was estimated at P150,000. The house was made of light materials. The adjacent house was slightly damaged. Firefighters put out the blaze in 30 minutes.

Among those damaged were a computer, various appliances and personal belongings.

Occupants of the house said they are still thankful that the house was not totally destroyed.

Meanwhile, the BFP reminded all residents especially those living in boarding houses to ensure the safety of all electrical connections, and other things that might trigger fires. March has been declared as fire prevention month in the country.*MA
