Dongail not arrested
in Palawan: Quebrar

Bacolod police director Ronilo Quebrar yesterday debunked reports that fugitive Chief Inspector Clarence Dongail was arrested in Palawan.

The report came out after Lorraine Abay, one of the respondents in the kidnap-slay of former Pahanocoy Brgy. Capt. Elueterio Salabas and two others, was arrested by the police on March 19 in Dipolog City.

Quebrar, citing reports both from the Palawan Police Provincial Office and the Puerto Prinsesa City Police Office, said the report that Dongail was apprehended in Palawan turned out to be false.

Salabas and his nephew Maximo Lomoljo and Ricardo Suganob were kidnapped and murdered in Bacolod City in August 2003, 21 accused, 10 of them policemen are the suspects.

Abay is now detained at the Dipolog police lock-up cell. Her co-accused, aside from Dongail, a Chief Inspector Jimmy Fortaleza, Senior Inspectors Jonthan Lorilla and Bonifer Gotas, SPO2 Freddie Natividad, SP01 Nelson Grijaldo, Police Officers 2 Dennis Grijaldo, Winston Hulleza and Ruel Villacanas, PO1 Bernardo Cimato and 10 other civilians remain at-large as of this time

All the respondents in the kidnap-slay case were denied bail by the Regional Trial Court of Guihulngan.*GPB
