The Negros Basketball Association is shelving the staging of a
summer tournament this year, NBA president Oscar "Dodong" Bascon
said yesterday.
But Bascon, said the NBA will come up with a "big tournament"
on or before December this year.
"I would like to apologize to basketball fans that there will
be no NBA summer tournament," Bascon said during the re-launching
of the SCOOP Interaction.
Bascon said he will be busy campaigning for his wife, Carmenia,
who is seeking her third term as Himamaylan mayor. The NBA
staged the Mayor's Cup last year and it drew topnotch teams from
Cebu, Iloilo and Bacolod.
Toyota-Iloilo, owned and managed by Robert Uy, won the crown over
Hapee-Cebu, then coached by former Negros Slashers mentor Jun Noel.
