selection set today

The Wushu Federation of the Philippines will hold a tryout for possible members of the national pool at the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City.

This was disclosed by Humberto Ginete, president of the Bacolod Sports Officials and Coaches Association, during the re-launching of the SCOOP Interaction at Dodong's Fastbreak.

Ginete also said that Arnold Tinagan, the WFP regional director, will be in Bacolod to oversee the try-outs. Expected to join the try-outs are members of the Supreme Modern Combat club of Ronilo Gamboa, Ginete said.

Ginete also said that three members of the Renzuoko Martial Arts Academy are joining the four-day Philippine karatedo try-outs at the Abellana Sports Complex in Cebu City. Vying for slots in the national squad are Ace Eso, Cheryl Llanes and Rhaposed Pediongco. *CPT
