Teletech named
fastest-growing BPO

TeleTech Holdings Inc. was recognized as the Fastest Growing Business Process Outsourcing company in the Philippines by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Business Processing Association of the Philippines and other organizations at the recent 2007 International ICT Awards in Manila.

TeleTech vice president and general manager Maulik Parekh yesterday said Bacolod City obviously played a key role in their winning of the award because of the number of people they have hired, adding that they have 11,000 employees all over the country right now.

He said their Bacolod site has about 1,500 employees and they will be hiring close to 500 employees in the next three to four months. "So our growth continues to stay strong here in Bacolod because of how satisfied our clients are wth the good performance and customer management skills of our employees," he added.

Parekh said they have launched two initiatives to show that they really care about their employees. These are the master in business administration (MBA) program aimed at upgrading the managerial skills of their employees and the auto loan program which was launched in Bacolod yesterday in partnership with the Bank of the Philippine Islands where they can take advantage of lower rates and down payment, he said.

He said the company will sponsor the total cost of the MBA scholarship program called "UpGRADE" and that it has partnered with Ateneo in Manila, University of St. La Salle in Bacolod, as well as, other universities in their provincial locations.

Michael Sendall, TeleTech Bacolod site director, said TeleTech recently signed a lease agreement with Robinson's Land Corp. and they are expanding the second level of their facility at Robinson's Metro from 66,000 square feet to 86,000 square feet to accommodate 300 workstations bringing to 1,100 the total number of workstations.

Parekh said in the Philippines they have close to 7,000 work stations, the highest in the BPO industry.*CGS
