The garden opens

Yesterday was the feast day of St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ and the chaste spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Countless towns, cities and families celebrated the feast day, but the most "bonggacious" was the fiesta of Sagay City called " Sinigayan Festival". It is a week-long celebration, with the popular Pinoy Dream Academy coming, and the birthday of our beloved Gov. Joseph Maraņon.

Fr. Felix Pasquin, parish priest of Silay City, officiated at the prayers and blessing during the opening of Mellie's Garden at the back of the Mejica-Leonardia Building in Silay City.

This is the latest venture of the entrepreneurs, husband and wife tandem of Nene and Mellie Leonardia. Lovely and exquisite plants were starting to bloom already.

In full force were the classmates of Nene and Mellie from La Consolacion and Sta. Teresita Academy, and friends and patrons of their business. The good weather complimented the spacious garden where we enjoyed the breeze and the delicious food.

The tasty lechons were gifts of their children Glenn and Liza while the huge birthday cake was given by son Joebert.

Everybody was teasing Councilor Mark Golez with somebody special, An Azcona, and asking "When is the big event." He just smiled with a twinkle in his eyes.

The celebrators were busy minding all the grandchildren and aunties and classmates. To Mellie, may you have more birthdays to come!

The ever-active members of LCC high school Class '51 and their "adopted classmates" celebrated the birthdays of those with natal days on the first quarter of the year at the residence of Dr. Luis and Letty Montero Saturday. The honorees were Letty Arevalo, Louie Palo, Letty Montero, Zenaida Regalado, Anita Lim, Dory Lavilla, Joe and Perla Leonardia. A highlight of the party was the long-distance call from homesick classmate Norma Regidor in San Francisco, who greeted all the celebrators and talked to all those present, too.!

REMEMBER:

"Nothing makes a person more productive than the last minute."*
