spikers in early lead

Victorias City and La Carlota City maintained their winning streak in the Under-16 boys' and girls' divisions respectively in the first week of the finals of the 7th NOVA-NOCSF Age-group Volleyball Championships at the University of St. La Salle College Covered Court over the weekend.

The Victorias spikers added a win to its 5-0 win-lose standing after routing St. Joseph-La Salle from behind, 21-25, 25-22, 25-20 while USLS defeated Bacolod City National High School, 25-20, 25-17 to improve its 3-2 record in the boys' category. La Carlota City edged out USLS in two sets, 25-22, 25-20 in the crossover finals between Brackets A and B of the 16-Under girls' category while SJS-LS won in a come from behind battle over Escalante City, 24-26, 27-25, 25-16.

Negros Occidental High School then trounced Mansilingan Christian Academy, 25-22, 25-17 before winning over SJS-LS, 18-25, 27-25, 25-16 while La Carlota triumphed against USLS, 25-22, 25-20 in the same division.

In the Under-14 boys' hostilities, NOHS stunned top team LCC, 29-27, 25-18 while USLS crushed LCA-Murcia in two sets 25-13, 25-16.

Group leader Silay City overwhelmed SJI in the girls' 14-Under category, 25-14, 25-20 before Talisay City registered victories over LCC, 22-25, 25-14, 25-21 and SJI, 25-19, 25-21.* PP
