10-Under titles

The University of St. La Salle and E.B. Magalona-A bagged the championship in the girls' and boys' 10-Under categories respectively of the 17th NOVA-NOCSF Age-group Volleyball Championships at the USLS College Covered Court yesterday.

USLS volleybelle Maria Arielle Estranero won the Most Valuable Player award in the girls' group while Jameboy Lomugda was named MVP in the boys' division.

USLS claimed the crown with a 6-0 win-lose slate following victories against St. John's Institute squad C, 25-10, 25-10, and SJI team A, 25-18, 27-25.

In the same category, SJI-A finished with a 5-1 record for second place, followed by Trinity Christian School placed with 4-2, and SJI-B (1-4). On its way to the boys' crown, EBM-A edged USLS, 21-9,12-21, 21-6 before beating sister team EBM-B in two sets, 21-12, 21-14. The squad then beat Queen of Peace School, 25-2, 25-6 and tripped EBM team B, 18-25, 25-10, 25-11, for top honors in the seven-team tournament.

EBM-B made it a 1-2 finish with a 6-2 record while Silay City clinched the third spot with a 5-3 slate, followed by QPS (2-6).* PP
