The Liturgical Arts Ministry, in cooperation with
the San Diego Pro-cathedral and the Mother Butler's Guild will present
"Reflection," as part of its 10th anniversary celebration to be
held at the Bernardino Jalandoni Museum in Rizal St., Silay City,
at 3:30 p.m. today.
One of the highlights of the event is an art exhibition
of the recent works of Sony Golez, Nita Gaston, Lay Ann Gabeloria,
Alvin Infante, Jojit Hermosura, Royal Rosales, Ed'z Bayoran, Reynan
Dayon and Dante Villanueva, a press release from the ministry said.
Carmencita Puentevella - president of the Silay Heritage
Foundation, and Fr. Flex Pasquin, will lead the ceremonial cutting
of the ribbon. The ministry was founded in 1997 under the supervision
of Msgr. Danilo Paderna. It is aimed at illustrating the Gospel
through the arts for the faithful. The exhibit will be until March

marks women's day
The Zonta Club of Bacolod celebrated International
Women's Day
with a talk on "Anti-Trafficking in Persons" by
Liza Jane Estalillia, regional director of the Department of Foreign
Affairs, held at Sea Breeze Hotel, recently, a press release from
the group said. The club said its framework for action against trafficking
are prevention, protection and reintegration/healing.
Trafficking is a highly profitable underground business,
and is the third largest billion-dollar earner worldwide next to
the sale of firearms and drugs, the press release added.*

Holy Week monitoring
at MKNP set
The Mount Kanla-on Natural Park will be monitored
and its entrance manned during the Holy Week, on April 2-8,
a press release from the Office of the Protected Area Superintendent
of the Department of Natural Resources said. Dubbed as "2007 Oplan
Semana Santa" the yearly activity which started in 2000, is aimed
at monitoring illegal activities in the park; regulate and implement
the rules and regulations on mountaineering activities; conduct
information dissemination of the Protected Area Management Board
rules and regulations being implemented in the park; conduct assessment
and preparedness on forest/grass fire; and assistance to visitors.
It is in partnership with Gov. Joseph Maraņon and
the Provincial Disaster Management Team of Negros Occidental; non-government
organizations and institutions; Kanla-on Green Brigades; Forest
Brigade Interceptors; students and volunteer groups; concerned communities;
and the local government units around the park, the press release
added.*

NOMSI election tomorrow
The Negros Occidental Medical Society Inc. will hold
its election of officers tomorrow at the NOMSI Building, Barangay
Tangub, Bacolod City, a press release from the group said.
It will also elect the national officers for the
Philippine Medical Society. Members all over the province are enjoined
to attend the event, to be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the press
