Remembering their roots

Excuse Me
With Buddai Piccio

The USA and some European countries are still suffering from cold weather although it is spring already. Flowers and trees are blooming, and more balikbayans are coming, beginning the last week of October until May, up to the summer time in Europe and USA.

Immensely enjoying their stay here are balikbayans pilot Champs and Mila Polvorosa from Los Angeles and Ramiro del Castillo Jr. of New Jersey who decided to stay for good; Lydia Maceda, Ester Fuentebella, Rodney and Leila Lucas, to mention a few, all hailing from London.

Almost all of them are retirees but of course not tired, like Ester Fuentebella, a nurse who plans to spend six months here and six months in London. Lady luck is with her as, little by little, her business is succeeding, while Rodney and Leila Lucas of Wembley London, perennial visitors of the City of Smiles, enjoyed the invitation of friends and family to watch cultural shows, art exhibit, going south and north to nice resorts.

Just lately, Tita Carmen Siason honored them at a Carmen Fishpond where Rodney Lucas enjoyed watching hundreds of Tilapia fish and Bangus at the surface of the water. They are also planning to spend six months here and six months abroad.

*****

The 3rd branch of Lola's Cakes and pastries owned by Jackie and Grace Go opened at the 2nd floor of SM Bacolod North Wing, during the grand opening of the mall.

Fr. Chris Gonzales blessed the thriving pastry shop and Mayor Bing Leonardia cut the ceremonial ribbon with Sonia Verdeflor and Cheryl Gretchen Go.

REMEMBER:

"The seeds we sow today determine the kind of fruit we'll reap tomorrow."*
