Organized crime groups do not spare even police chiefs in their
extortion activities.
They even use the name of Western Visayas police director
Wilfredo Dulay in their modus-operandi. Supt. William Seņoron, Sagay
police chief, yesterday said a person introducing himself as Gen.
Dulay ordered him to deposit P50,000 in cash to the nearest branch
of Metrobank, in exchange for projects to be undertaken by the Office
of the Vice-President in Sagay City.
The extortionist used a cellphone number 09174539008 in calling
Seņoron.
Dulay said Seņoron is the third police-commissioned officer
the syndicate has attempted to victimize, using his name. Seņoron
said the extortionist even knew the birth date and badge number
of Dulay.
"The way the caller spoke seemed to be like Gen. Dulay," he
added.
Seņoron also said he was told by the caller not to share his number
with other people, which he says is "confidential".*GPB
