Malaga farmers
seek mayor's help

Members of the Hacienda Malaga Cuenca Independent Workers Union and the Malaga Cuenca Multipurpose Cooperative are asking La Castellana Mayor Enrico Elumba to help them obtain justice in the implementation of land reform in Hacienda Velez Malaga in La Castellana town.

The union through its president Rodolfo Tupas Sr. and the cooperative through its vice president Romeo Caram made the request in a letter to Elumba.

They asked Elumba to help conduct a through investigation into what is happening amid the insistence of Task Force Mapalad members to be installed on the property. We are not against agrarian reform because we believe that we will benefit from it, what we are objecting to is the matter in which the DAR divided the land on the property, they added.*
