I can't assure
Team Unity a 12-0 win - guv
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Gov. Joseph Maraņon yesterday said he cannot assure a 12-0 win for the administration's Team Unity senatorial bets in Negros Occidental.

Maraņon was responding to reports that governors at the recent League of Provinces of the Philippines meeting were asked to ensure a 12-0 win for the administration bets.

Being part of a coalition with the administration, Maraņon said he will try his best to convince the people to vote for the Team Unity bets. "I will work hard for them, but I cannot guarantee anything," he said.

Candidates for senator will be voted for by the people, depending on what they can do for Negros, he said.

"The senators, they are only good during election time, after the elections they do not bother to ask local officials what is needed in their areas," Maraņon said.

Meanwhile, the governor, who is seeking re-election, said he, along with his runningmates, will file their Certificates of Candidacy on March 28.*CPG
