Valiant sweeps Probac,
snares Tan Kek Pin title
BY CEDELF TUPAS

Valiant Bank finished its Tan Kek Pin Cup campaign the same way it started it --- with an emphatic victory.

Banking on stellar performances from Ryan Hugnatan and Bobby Cepeda, Valiant drubbed Davies Paint Probac, 101-86, Sunday to complete a sweep of the three-game finals at the Po Hang Gym.

Cepeda came away with a team-high 17 points but it was his solid defensive effort on Most Valuable Player Ryan Concha that proved to be the difference in the fourth period as Valiant followed up its 93-92 win in Game 1 Friday.

The spikers of St. John's Institute and E.B. Magalona led the girls' and boys' Under-12 hostilities, respectively, at the end of the 17th NOVA-NOCSF Age-group Volleyball Championships at the University of St. La Salle's College Covered Court.

SJI topped the 12-Under girls' category with a 4-0 win-loss standing, after prevailing over La Carlota City, 25-18, 25-17. USLS defeated La Carlota in another match and clinched second spot with a 3-1 record while Silay City's squad eliminated TCS, 25-16, 25-19 for third spot.

In the boys' 12-Under category, EBM edged QPS, 25-23, 25-19 while LCA-Murcia outplayed USLS, 25-19, 25-21, to clinch second spot.

City High clouters to
make RP Series debut
BY CEDELF TUPAS

Bacolod City National High School is aiming for no less than a spot in the Asia Pacific Championships when its softball team sees action in the girls' 16-18 Big League competition of the Philippine Series next month.

Mentored by Nelson Dohinog, City High is making its maiden appearance in the national event set from April 8-15 in Bauan, Batangas, although four members of the team already have big tournament experience.

Standout pitcher Rosie Parcia will spearhead the team that also includes Ana Marie Moneva, Luzviminda Embudo and Marisol Alimpulo. The team has a lot of potential that's why we decided to compete in the tournament, BCNHS principal Jose Dayot said, citing the City High girls' gallant stand against perennial Palaro champion Domingo Lacson National High School in the Bacolod Division Meet.
