EBM, SJI top
NOVA eliminations

The spikers of St. John's Institute and E.B. Magalona led the girls' and boys' Under-12 hostilities, respectively, at the end of the 17th NOVA-NOCSF Age-group Volleyball Championships at the University of St. La Salle's College Covered Court.

SJI topped the 12-Under girls' category with a 4-0 win-loss standing, after prevailing over La Carlota City, 25-18, 25-17. USLS defeated La Carlota in another match and clinched second spot with a 3-1 record while Silay City's squad eliminated TCS, 25-16, 25-19 for third spot.

In the boys' 12-Under category, EBM edged QPS, 25-23, 25-19 while LCA-Murcia outplayed USLS, 25-19, 25-21, to clinch second spot.

Meanwhile, SJI team A kept its No. 1 rank in Group A of the girls' Under-10 division with a 3-0 record, highlighted by a 25-3, 25-8 win over USLS Team B.

EBM trails SJI team A with a 2-1 record while St. Benilde School squad A is in third.

USLS team A ruled Bracket B with 3-0 while TCS took second place after beating SJI-C, 27-25, 25-20.

QPS nipped SBS team B in two sets, 25-4, 25-17 and joined the finals at third place, ahead of SJI squad C (1-2).

EBM team B topped the seven-team 10-Under boys' category with a 5-0 record after a victories over QPS, 21-16, 21-17, and USLS, 21-15, 21-17.

EBM squad A also added two wins to its record following triumphs over SBS- team B, 21-2, 21-10, and QPS, 21-7, 22-20, 21-11. QPS placed third with two wins and two losses while Silay City claimed the fourth spot with a 1-2 record.* PP
