resolution gab held

The Conflict Resolution Group Foundation held a 10-day seminar on conflict resolution in Dumaguete City recently that was aimed at promoting mediation as the people's first choice in conflict resolution.

Among those who attended was Trade and Industry Regulatory Division city chief Angeline Gonzales.

The seminar was also in line with Republic Act 9285 that seeks to institutionalize the use of alternative dispute resolution system in the country, and establish the office for alternative dispute resolution.

CoRe personnel said they believe that mediation promotes empowerment and recognition, responsibility-taking and non-violent communication.

Conflict resolution has been proven by worldwide results to be the most effective, swift and economical way of resolving contradicting views, it added. The CoRe Group is composed of eminent mediators who provide training to promote mediation in government, business and other areas where disputes commonly occur.*RG
